Borovo State Hunting Area

The State Hunting Area Borovo is located on the southern slopes of the Batashka Mountain, just below the Batashki Snezhnik peak.

Situated 150 km from Sofia Airport and only 70 km from Bulgaria’s cultural capital, Plovdiv, the area is easily accessible for both local and international guests.

The diverse terrain and flora in Borovo create an excellent environment for various game species. Here, you can find red deer, wild boar, roe deer, wild goats, and even bears, wolves, and otters.

For enthusiasts of bird hunting, Borovo is home to partridges, capercaillies, wood pigeons, and hazel grouse. An added bonus for anglers is the presence of rainbow and brown trout in the Vacha Reservoir.

Large game in Borovo is renowned for its exceptional trophy qualities. You can expect red deer trophies rated at 220.63 CIC points and roe deer trophies with weights of up to 277 grams.

Trophy values for wild goats range from 90 to 110 CIC points, with the best achievement being 110.48 CIC points. Wild boars with tusks measuring 18 to 22 cm and bears with trophies rated at 504 CIC points can also be found in the area.

The Borovo Hunting Area offers various recreational opportunities for its guests, including excursions to the architectural reserve in the old part of Plovdiv, the Rhodope towns of Devin and Batak, as well as the Trigrad Gorge.

Equestrian enthusiasts can enjoy the stunning landscapes and picturesque corners of the Rhodope Mountains.

For longer stays, the region provides numerous accommodation options, with hunting lodges offering comfort and coziness to visitors.
