Vitinya State Hunting Area
Located in the western part of the Central Balkan Mountains, the State Hunting Area Vitinya offers excellent conditions for any hunting tourism enthusiast.
Situated in Sofia Province, near the Vitinya locality, this area combines beautiful beech, oak, and mixed deciduous and coniferous forests with a rich variety of game.
Spanning 15,000 hectares, its proximity to the capital and the Hemus Highway makes it an attractive destination for both Bulgarian and international hunters.
Forests cover about 95% of the total area, with mixed deciduous trees (oak and beech) predominating. The hilly-mountainous terrain promises great adventures, whether you are a hunter or a nature enthusiast. The highest point is near Mount Murgash at 1,600 meters, while the lowest is near Bebresh Reservoir at 500 meters.
The State Hunting Area Vitinya offers a rich variety of game. The red deer is the main species, followed by roe deer, wild boar, and Tibetan yak. The hunting area includes three fenced breeding and hunting bases for mouflon, fallow deer, and Tibetan yak, covering a total area of 501 hectares.
For fishing enthusiasts, Vitinya offers opportunities for sport fishing for rainbow trout, carp, and grass carp. Additionally, visitors can enjoy hiking routes, horseback riding, extreme mountain biking trails, and survival training in challenging conditions.
Vitinya features a hunting lodge with six double rooms, an impressive trophy hall, dining areas, and cozy corners with fireplaces.
