Aramliets State Hunting Area
Established in 1971, the State Hunting Area “Aramliets” is located in the western Sredna Gora.
The terrain of Aramliets ranges from hilly to mountainous, with an elevation between 550 and 1200 meters. Its hydrographic network includes rivers such as Treska, Lopushna, and Ravna Reka, along with the Ognyanovo Reservoir, built on the Lesnovka River. Located just 40 km from Sofia, the area serves as a perfect escape from urban life.
The total area of the Hunting Area spans 10,551 hectares, nearly 87% of which are protected zones under the Natura 2000 program. Forest cover accounts for 83%, predominantly featuring deciduous trees such as beech, sessile oak, and Hungarian oak.
Aramliets is renowned for its rich game population. The area offers hunting opportunities for red deer, fallow deer, and small game. To enhance wildlife diversity, four intensive game management bases have been established, covering a total area of 317 hectares.
The best hunting trophies include a mouflon scoring 209 CIC points, a roe deer scoring 141 CIC points, a wild boar scoring 123 CIC points, and a fallow deer scoring 181 CIC points.
In addition to hunting, Aramliets offers a variety of activities, including fishing, eco-tourism, photo hunting, and horseback riding. Visitors can explore the best-preserved ancient beech forests in the protected area of Aramliets.
Its proximity to Sofia, abundant wildlife, natural beauty, and diverse tourism opportunities make it an exceptionally attractive destination.
Guests at the Hunting Area are accommodated in a luxurious hunting lodge located in the forest. The lodge features a lounge with a fireplace and five double rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom.
