Hunting Reserve Hunting Club Kotel

The hunting area is located west of the town of Kotel, approximately 330 km from Sofia and 100 km from Burgas.

It is the successor to the Zelentich Hunting Reserve and is currently managed by Hunting Club Bulgaria AD. The terrain is mountainous, with forest ecosystems situated on steep and sloping grounds, with an altitude range of 250 to 1,128 meters. The forests consist primarily of beech, Turkey oak, and Hungarian oak, alongside cultivated coniferous forests of white and black pine, spruce, and others.

The natural conditions of the area contribute to the diversity of flora and fauna. Well-maintained roads and clearings provide easy access to the hunting reserve. Its management adheres to traditional practices of game care and stewardship through feeding, protection, selection, construction of hunting facilities, monitoring, and game preservation.

The reserve is home to wild boar, roe deer, red deer, jackals, wolves, foxes, hares, badgers, quails, wood pigeons, and more. The trophy quality of the animals is excellent, with red deer trophies ranging from 7-9 kg, roe deer trophies from 350-450 grams, and wild boar tusks measuring 20-23 cm.

The hunting area organizes both individual and group hunting for small and large game, as well as predator hunts. Well-trained hunting dogs and guides are provided for hunting purposes.

Hunting Club Kotel offers its services year-round to both Bulgarian and international tourists, with visits organized for groups or individuals. Guests are provided with excellent hunting services as well as additional amenities.

Visitors can stay at the Rakovski Guest House, located near the center of Kotel.

Hunting Club Kotel also offers photo safaris. Under the guidance of experienced guides, photographers can capture images of red deer, roe deer, wild boar, capercaillie, bear, wolf, fox, diverse tree species, plants, and breathtaking views of the Balkan Mountains. For nature enthusiasts, eco-tourism with a guide and optional transport is also available.
