Kapinovski Monastery Camping is located about 20 km south of Veliko Tarnovo, in close proximity to Kapinovski Monastery “St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.”

Whether you come camping with your caravan, camper, or tent, we have camping spots under the shade of majestic old trees, on a sunny meadow directly next to the cool Kapinovski waterfall, or secluded spots just meters from the river valley.

All of our camping areas are equipped with water and electricity. As guests of the campsite, you have access to a modern building with sanitary facilities, a tourist kitchen, and a laundry room near your camping area. Nearby, you will also find playgrounds, nature trails, cycling routes, and much more.

The monastery is located on the left bank of the Veselina River, surrounded by lush greenery. Not far away is the village that gave its name to the monastery—Kapinovo.

Kapinovski Monastery, along with the neighboring Plakovski Monastery, has a history linked to the prosperity and fate of the medieval capital Veliko Tarnovo. From legends and some scarce documentary evidence, we understand that Kapinovski Monastery dates back to the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire.

Today, Kapinovski Monastery is a nunnery, and the beautiful surroundings, suitable for camping tourism, along with the wealth of historical and artistic monuments, are increasingly sparking interest in it.
