Dyuni

The sea resort Dyuni is situated in Sozopol municipality, 7 kilometers south of Sozopol, 40 kilometers of Burgas and 10 kilometers north of Ropotamo reserve.

The climate here is continental, and the average temperature in July is +23-24° С.

It was constructed in 1987 and presently it attracts tourists, searching for peace and relaxation, luxury and sophistication. Its architecture is a blend of complementing styles. The dominating elements are Mediterranean and typically Bulgarian.

The complex has a large beach, 4.5 kilometers long and more than 100 meters wide, covered with fine golden sand. It is situated along the main road to Tsarevo and the Alepu swamp. A quiet bay is formed in the northern part of the beach, where the Dyuni resort is situated.

The sea here is crystal clear and gradually becomes deeper. For several years in a row, including 2011, the beach in Dyuni won the international eco-prize Blue Flag for pure environment, security and high-quality management.

A great diversity of entertainment and attractions is provided for the guests of Dyuni. At the beach tourists can practice windsurfing and other water sports. The resort consists of three complexes, all of which are five-star.

West of Dyuni, about 6 kilometers away, lies the Thracian fortress Malkoto Kale, built in the 8^th century BC. It is located on the Kaleto peak (314 meters above the sea level). The fortress covers an area of 4,000 square meters. It is surrounded by a fortress wall. It is assumed that its entrance used to be situated between two 6-meter tall moraines.

The municipal center Sozopol is situated at a distance of 7 km from Dyuni. it attracts with its various landmarks – the old Renaissance houses, the small, narrow cobblestone streets, the archaeological remains, etc.

The biggest attraction in Sozopol at the present moment is the remains of St. John the Baptist, which are kept in the temple “St. George” in the town.

In the vicinity are the beaches Alepu and Arkutino – attractive due to their beauty and pure nature.
