Cherni Lom State Hunting Area

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the State Hunting Area Cherni Lom is a legendary hunting destination throughout Europe.

The reserve is one of the places where guests can be assured of an exceptional hunting experience and the trophies they aspire to achieve.

Located in the northeastern part of Bulgaria and spanning an area of approximately 130,000 hectares, Cherni Lom is situated about 300 km from Sofia and 200 km from Varna.

The terrain of the reserve is flat to hilly, with an elevation ranging from 125 to 486 meters. The superb combination of natural features, paired with effective management, creates optimal conditions for the development of populations with excellent trophy quality, including red deer, roe deer, wild boar, fallow deer, and mouflon.

The symbol of Cherni Lom is the red deer, which attracts hunters from around the world. Each year, elite trophies are harvested here, many of which are awarded gold medals. Among the reserve’s records is a red deer trophy weighing 17.340 kg. The red deer in Cherni Lom are renowned for their exceptional quality and size, ensuring high-quality trophies for successful hunters.

In addition to red deer, Cherni Lom provides ideal conditions for various other game species, including roe deer, wild boar, fallow deer, and mouflon. Predator hunting is also successfully practiced here, targeting foxes, jackals, and wildcats.

The reserve offers three luxurious hunting lodges – Elenovo, Goliamo Gradishte, and Slavyanovo – providing comfort and first-class service for its guests.
