Voden – Iri Hisar State Hunting Area

The State Hunting Area Voden – Iri Hisar is situated in the heart of the picturesque Voden Forest.

Its proximity to the village of Ostrovo, as well as convenient transport connections to the city of Razgrad, Varna Airport, and Sofia Airport, make the area an easily accessible destination.

Voden – Iri Hisar spans across the municipalities of Razgrad, Zavet, Isperih, and Glavinitsa, combining two massive forest complexes into a total area of approximately 15,000 hectares.

The uniqueness of the hunting area lies in its forested lands interspersed with game fields, meadows, and pastures, which separate it from the vast agricultural fields of the Ludogorie region.

The aim of the hunting management activities at Voden – Iri Hisar is to ensure optimal conditions for game, thereby reducing their migration outside the area.

The flora-rich open spaces, along with continuous predator control, provide favorable conditions for wildlife, promoting their peaceful and natural development.

All open spaces in the area are properly managed, including fields for concentrated feed production, alfalfa meadows, and hayfields. A significant part of the hunting management involves feeding the game and maintaining forest roads, which is done daily using horse-drawn carts. This approach allows the game to adapt to human presence, enhancing the effectiveness of hunting activities.

The State Hunting Area Voden – Iri Hisar offers a variety of hunting opportunities, maintaining a rich diversity of large game species such as red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, mouflon, wild boar, bison, wolf, and jackal. All hunts are conducted under the supervision of an experienced hunting guide.

The area features two hunting lodges in the Voden locality and one in Iri Hisar, providing comfort and coziness for all guests.
