Panichishte

The resort of Panichishte is located in the northwest part of Rila, about 10 kilometers from the town of Sapareva Banya and about 80 kilometers from Sofia.

Panichishte is situated at about 1,400 m altitude and is known as a destination for summer and winter tourism.

During the winter Panichishte offers good conditions for skiers and winter sports fans. At their disposal are an alpine ski path (470 meters long), ski path for children (200 meters) and a several other paths, all of them equipped with a tow rope.

The resort has got a long run path (5,000 meters), children’s ski ground with a baby lift. Special attention is paid to sledging on a runway, 1,130 meters long.

During the summer Panichishte is a starting point for many hiking routes. The resort borders the Rila National Park, and the lowest glacial lake is in the region – Suhoto Ezero (The Dry Lake).

From Panichishte one can also reach The Seven Lakes of Rila – 4 hours, the Rila Monastery – 2 hours, Sakavishki Waterfall – 3 hours, etc.

In Panichishte accommodation is available in hotels, villas and chalets. The resort has got well-developed sports facilities for practicing sports like football, volleyball, etc.

The proximity of the resort to Sapareva Banya, where the warmest mineral water in Bulgaria springs, makes it a preferred destination for spa and health tourism.
