Silistar beach
The Silistar Bay is one of the most beautiful and splendid beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
It unites the beauty of Strandzha Mountain and the Black Sea.
Silistar beach is the last large beach before the Turkish border. It is located on the road to Rezovo village, about 5 km. south of Sinemorets. The beach itself could be reached by a dirt road passing through the mountain forest.
The water in the bay is calm, warm and very clean as the beach is shallow with a very smooth change of depth. Its size is approximately 1 km long and 50 m wide and the sand that covers the beach is fine and soft. The coast is very picturesque and has beautiful panoramic views.
In 1992, Silistar area was declared a protected area and felt within the Strandzha Nature Park, part of the European ecological network Natura 2000.
Due to this fact the area was not urbanized and at present days does not have any permanent buildings – result of the basic function of protection and preservation of the wild birds and natural habitats.
The Silistar beach is one of the favorite places for surfing on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Due to the danger of vortices in underwater caves, diving enthusiasts should be especially careful.
Near the entrance of the beach, could be found a camping site.
