Pulden Wine Cellar
Winery
Wine Cellar Pulden PLC – Perushtitsa is an old cellar with a rich tradition, located in the heart of the Southern vine-growing and wine region. It was founded in 1932 – 1933 as a cooperative for purchase and processing of grapes, production and marketing of high quality wines.
In 2003-2005 the company invested in new technological equipment compliant with the latest trends in winemaking.
The good geographical location of the Wine Cellar and the protection against hard frost and winds that the Balkan mountains provide from the North favours the cultivation of red grape varieties – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rubin and the unique Bulgarian variety Mavrud.
The production capacity for wine production is 1500 tons of wine grapes and the bottling capacity is 10 million bottles per year. The tank capacity for storage of the wines is 7 million liters.
The wine is produced by modern technology in rotofermenters with volume of 35 cubic meters and fermenters type “Universal” with volume of 45 cubic meters. The resulting wines are aged in oak barrels type “barrique” and in stainless steel tanks. The wine cellar also has a refrigeration plant for temperature control during fermentation; it is equipped with a modern physico-chemical and microbiological laboratory. The bottling workshop has three bottling lines with a capacity of 2,000 bottles per hour each, and a machine for filling wine in BIB packaging.
