Tervel State Hunting Area
The State Hunting Area Tervel manages approximately 14,800 hectares located in the plateaus of Dobrudzha and Varna.
It is situated about 500 km from Sofia and around 100 km from Varna. The terrain is predominantly flat and hilly, interspersed with dry and deep ravines, with dominant forests of acacia and Turkey oak.
The highest point in the hunting area is 250 meters, located in the Kyostata locality, while the lowest point is in the Suha Reka locality at an elevation of 80 meters.
The big game in the reserve includes red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar, and mouflon. Small game species include hare, pheasant, and partridge. Predators such as jackals, foxes, wildcats, and martens are also present.
Among the best trophies harvested in Tervel over the years are: Red deer: 11.750 kg, rated at 224.73 CIC points, Fallow deer: 4.775 kg, rated at 197.18 CIC points, Roe deer: 470 grams, rated at 117.35 CIC points.
Guests of the Tervel Hunting Area are accommodated at the Kyostata Hunting Lodge, located in the locality of the same name. Visitors can enjoy local specialties from the Dobrudzha cuisine, along with Bulgarian wines and rakias.
In addition to hunting adventures, visitors can enjoy horseback riding, culinary tourism, and ethnographic tourism.
