Mazakova House
Mazakova House is a cultural monument, built in 1848 – 1850 by the prominent Karlovo priest and Hristo Popvasilev.
The House hosts the ethnographic exposition “Karlovo urban life from the end of the XIX and the beginning of the XX century”.
The popular name by which the Mazakova House is known comes from the name of Hristo Popvasilev`s son-in-low, major Stefan Mazakov – a volunteer and public figure.
All rooms of the House are thematically arranged with authentic fabrics, Kalofer /Brussels/ lace, clothing and furniture. Main part is dedicated to the traditional cuisine in Karlovo home and its role as a centre of family gatherings.
