Lekova House
Ivan Lekov was a wealthy merchant, revolutionary, and participant in the April Uprising.
Lekova House was built after the Crimean War and was painted in 1873 by the local artist Ivan Zografov.
Restored in 2004, it is a cultural monument of national significance and represents a unique and invaluable example of Revival architecture.
In its main hall, one can see the Wheel of Life, which reflects the life philosophy characteristic of that period.
The house was visited by Vasil Levski, and after the meetings at Oborishte, the committee elected by the First Great National Assembly, convened in April 1876, stayed there.
Lekova House is celebrated by the great Pencho Slaveykov in his poem “The Bloody Song.”
